About the Author

Greg is the author of Cruising the Queensland Coast, now in its 3rd edition., and Sailing the NSW Coast, in its first edition.

Greg is an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and an AMSA Sailing Master Offshore NC.

His background is in computer programming, which he did for many years. That reflects in the eBook versions of the books. They use the modern ePub fixed layout format and make extensive use of the internal and external linking features of ePub, for easy in-book navigation and links to external sites. 

His wife, Maria, an avid sailor, joins him in all aspects of running and maintaining Curlew Escape, a Bavaria 45 Cruiser, which is run commercially.  

They also ride and breed quarterhorses at their northern NSW property.

Both of these hobbies are outdoor and risky to some degree. The philsophy, as reflected in the books, is to try to mitigate those risks by using all information available. The books systematically organise that information to make it quickly and easily accessible.

They cruise the east coast of Australia, along with Tonto, their brave Chihuahua and sometimes with sons, Curtis and Lewis. They have also raced Curlew Escape at Hamilton Race Week with modest success in various classes over the years, inlcuding a few day wins.
